An Inter-Continental Wine Experience

Three centuries ago, muscadel grapes travelled from France to South Africa and on February 2, 1659, the first wine was made in South Africa. The wine came to be loved back in France - Napoleon had as much as 1,126 litres shipped, and Baudelaire compared it to his lover.

Soif d'ailleursOpenwine and Espere are now bringing life to this old route by connecting the winemakers the wines of the Western Cape with wine lovers back in Paris with inter-continental tastings, storytelling and travels.
